Catherine Annie Hollingsworth is a licensed acupuncturist based in Miami. Red Sage Acupuncture Center is her solo practice.

After living in New York and working in dance and the visual arts, she fell in love with alternative medicine and began researching traditional healing methods. She moved to Miami in 2007 and began practicing Chinese medicine in 2015.

She has found acupuncture to be versatile and effective in treating many conditions of mind and body without side effects. Her greatest passion is helping patients find a drug-free path to health.

Her practice is shaped by the sensitivity and awareness she gained in the arts, and the respect for the body that she learned through dance.

She has two main specialties: pain relief and emotional wellness. But she has found that most people are not simple cases and she takes all aspects of a person into account when treating them.

She looks at the whole person — not just their symptoms but also who they are in health, as well as habits, diet, emotions, and life events to understand why her patients have gotten sick or are feeling bad. She has also found intuition a helpful tool in choosing treatment strategies for her patients.

Catherine earned a BA in Visual Arts from Brown University, and a Masters of Oriental Medicine from the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture, with additional study in Applied Channel Theory, the Balance Method and trigger point therapy. She is board certified by the NCCAOM as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine. Her writing on Chinese Medicine has been published in Acupuncture Today.
