Catherine Annie Hollingsworth is a licensed acupuncturist based in Miami. Red Sage Acupuncture Center is her solo practice. She is trained in a classical tradition of Chinese medicine called Five Element Acupuncture.
After living in New York and working in dance and the visual arts, she fell in love with alternative medicine and began researching traditional healing methods. She moved to Miami in 2007 and began practicing Chinese medicine in 2015.
Her practice is shaped by the sensitivity and awareness she gained in the arts, and the respect for the body that she learned through dance.
She offers treatment in three categories: pain relief, holistic health, and emotional wellness. But she believes that most people are not simple cases and she takes all aspects of a person into account when treating them.
She has found acupuncture to be versatile and effective in treating many conditions of mind and body without side effects. Her greatest passion is helping patients find a drug-free path to health.
Catherine earned a BA in Visual Arts from Brown University, and a Masters of Oriental Medicine from the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture, with additional study in the Balance Method, trigger point therapy, and mental health. She is board certified by the NCCAOM as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine. Her writing has been published in Acupuncture Today and the Miami Herald, among other publications.
