Read on to learn more about what you can expect, what we treat and what makes our clinic special. If you need additional information, please reach out.
For each new patient, I do a full intake. We will discuss your health history, current symptoms, and any life factors that may be impacting your health. I will then determine whether I can help you and estimate the number of treatments you'll need. Most patients need at least five treatments as a foundation.
Each time you come to see me, you will receive a treatment customized just for you, based on the goals we established during your first appointment. We will talk about how you are doing, your current state of health, and what has changed. You will then have the opportunity to relax and receive a gentle treatment.
I recommend weekly treatment at the beginning. As you begin to feel better, you can choose to space your treatments biweekly or monthly. Once you have reached your treatment goals, you can continue with active maintenance: monthly wellness treatments, or a tune-up at the change of seasons. You may also simply come back to the clinic if your symptoms start to return – we can usually address symptoms much more quickly at this point.
Most people feel little more than a brief sensation that is barely noticeable. The needles are much thinner than those used on injections and in our clinic we prioritize comfort for the patient during the entire treatment.
While many people know acupuncture is a proven non-invasive treatment for pain, it is also highly effective for many chronic conditions including stress and anxiety, digestive issues, headaches, sleep, women's health and more.

Yes! Catherine is trained in both Eastern and Western herbal medicine, and carries a wide range of formulas including custom blends. She provides recommendations to patients when she thinks herbs will be a beneficial addition to acupuncture treatment.
We are in the northwest corner of the South End neighborhood in Charlotte, NC.
We have easy, free parking right in front of the clinic entrance, which is reserved for our patients.
We do not currently accept insurance because most plans in NC effectively do not cover acupuncture. What we can provide is a superbill, which is a standardized receipt for insurance purposes. Some patients are able to receive reimbursement with superbills. We do also happily accept HSA and FSA.
We are focused on acupuncture, with additional services of cupping, gua sha and herbal medicine. We also offer specialized treatment for cosmetic acupuncture and conditions of the face.
Yes! We find that young people respond well and quickly to acupuncture. Even those who are afraid of shots quickly warm up to treatment once they have experienced how gentle it is. And most young people can easily tell that the treatments are helping them, which makes them feel comfortable returning if a series of treatments are needed.
Catherine has been practicing acupuncture since 2015, and has developed a style of treatment which has proven comfortable, effective and lasting. Her approach includes both treating symptoms and root causes. In particular, she is trained in the Five Element style of acupuncture which assesses and treats a person's constitution (health tendencies). This framework provides the deepest level of treatment and can balance out multiple symptoms at once. She also provides trigger point therapy and e-stim, which is a clinically proven technique to alleviate pain quickly and effectively. Above all, Catherine takes the time to assess each patient as an individual, as multiple people can have the same symptom for different reasons.
